The song's sexually liberated subject entices and seduces the singer, who appears both turned on "your gaze met me like a stab in the heart"and taken aback "And your desire hit me, but it made me shy".
But the crux of it comes in the chorus, when the audience abuses Joana in between lines of the song with "you saucy wench!", "you hussy!"and "you dirty skank!"
Not exactly politically correct, poor old Joana doesn't seem that bad, but as I said earlier, somehow funny. 
German pop-meister Roland Kaiser only made it to number 35 after he originally recorded the song in 1985.
Mallorca-based Peter Loose had better luck with a jumpier cover of Joana in 2006, turning it into a hit among German party lovers in Spanish islands and Oktoberfest tents alike.
